This past Friday, information on the upcoming second season of the fantasy isekai anime Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation was unveiled, including a brand-new teaser and key visual that revealed the series’ start date. The protagonist Rudeus’s hunt for his lost mother, Zenith, will be the primary theme of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’s second season, with the first episode scheduled to air on July 2. The second season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation occurs sometime after a strange magical catastrophe that leaves many people dead or missing, including Rudeus’s mother, sweeps the globe. The original light novel, written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka, inspired the anime series Jobless Reincarnation.
The first season was split into two parts, with the first airing from January to March 2021 for 11 episodes and the second from October to December of the same year for 12 episodes. Manabu Okamoto, who also directed a few episodes of the 2018 mecha anime series Darling in the FranXX, produced both halves of the 23-episode first season. The second season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’s opening and closing themes, “Spiral” by LONGMAN and “Musubime” by Yuiko Ohara, were made public in the new trailer.
