Jake Wallin, a deceased Fargo officer, will be buried with military honors during a private funeral on Saturday morning.
Officer Jake Wallin’s remains will be escorted by the Fargo Police Department in a two-and-a-half-hour procession to Pequot Lakes. His funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Pequot Lakes High School, where the procession is scheduled to arrive at 9 a.m.
Officials are requesting that anybody wishing to honor the deceased on Saturday do so with signs, flags, or a kind wave but refrain from attending the service.

Officer Wallin was shot and killed on July 15 while attending a crash scene by a guy who fired at them from a moving vehicle.
cops Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes are currently in a bad state in the hospital. Two additional cops were hurt in the incident.
The procession will leave Fargo and travel through Motley, Baxter, and Nisswa before arriving at Pequot Lakes’ final resting place after making a lap around the Fargo Police Headquarters.
The following are safe places to pay respects instead of parking cars on the side of the road to witness the parade, according to officials:
Baxter: Dellwood Drive frontage road.
Nisswa: The grassy area near downtown.
Pequot Lakes: Anywhere along Patriot Avenue.
Officer Wallin’s memorial service will be open to the public and held at Scheels Arena in Fargo on Wednesday, July 26 at 1 p.m.
