XO, Kitty Season 2 Ending Explained: Who Does Kitty Choose in the Finale?

Date:

Kitty Song Covey doesn’t end Season 2 officially “with” anyone — at least not in the straightforward, boyfriend-girlfriend way viewers might expect after a season built around romantic tension. Multiple recaps put it plainly: Kitty doesn’t definitively end up with a partner by the finale.

But the final moments also make one thing clear: if Kitty is choosing a direction, it’s Min Ho.

After the season’s chaos culminates in KISS’s high-stakes talent showcase (and the exposure of Stella’s revenge-driven blackmail scheme), Kitty finally gets two big wins that have nothing to do with romance: her family reunion mission comes together, and Principal Lee renews her scholarship so she can return to KISS for another year.

Then comes the romantic hinge-point. Kitty finds Min Ho in the sculpture garden to talk—ready to untangle her feelings—only to learn he’s leaving that night to join his family on a summer tour. Min Ho frames it as a reset: he’s swearing off relationships and trying to clear his head after everything with Stella.

That’s where the ending pivots from “closure” to “cliffhanger.” Kitty and Min Ho share a long, emotional hug that plays like the prelude to a kiss… and then it doesn’t happen. Netflix’s Tudum explained that the show intentionally leans into longing and slow-burn tension here—keeping the audience waiting right alongside Kitty.

Instead of a kiss or a clean confession, Kitty makes a bold move: she stops Min Ho as he’s about to leave and asks if she can join him on tour. He doesn’t deliver a big speech—he simply agrees, nodding and smiling as Kitty runs off with the kind of giddy momentum that screams “to be continued.”

So… who does Kitty end up with?

By the final frame, Kitty ends up with Min Ho in the sense that she chooses to spend the summer with him—signaling that he’s the relationship she’s most ready to explore next. But the show stops short of confirming they’re officially together, keeping their status intentionally open-ended.

As for the other possibilities: Kitty’s storyline with Yuri cools into friendship after their kiss and the fallout that follows; Yuri remains emotionally tied to Juliana even as that relationship shifts again by season’s end. And Dae, while still important to Kitty’s world, is no longer positioned as her endgame romance in the finale’s final beats.

The good news for anyone frustrated by the ambiguity: Netflix has since confirmed XO, Kitty will return for Season 3, with Tudum reporting that production has wrapped—meaning the Min Ho “tour” decision isn’t meant to hang forever.
