Nicole Kidman is back as Masha Dmitrichenko in Season 2 of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, this time running a new retreat—Zauberwald—set in the Austrian Alps.

When and where to watch
Season 2 premiered May 21, 2025, launching with a two-episode drop, followed by weekly Wednesday releases on Hulu (and Hulu on Disney+ where available).
The new Season 2 cast and characters
Here’s the new group of wellness-seekers (and the people around the retreat) joining Kidman:
-
Christine Baranski as Victoria — a poised, secretive guest.
-
Annie Murphy as Imogen — Victoria’s estranged daughter.
-
Murray Bartlett as Brian — a disgraced former children’s TV figure.
-
Dolly de Leon as Agnes — an ex-nun looking for a reset.
-
Mark Strong as David — a billionaire with personal history tied to Masha’s world.
-
Henry Golding as Peter — David’s son, trying to connect and figure things out.
-
Lena Olin as Helena — Masha’s enigmatic mentor figure.
-
King Princess as Tina — part of a tense relationship dynamic at the retreat.
-
Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Wolfie — Tina’s partner, with control issues in the mix.
-
Aras Aydın as Matteo — Victoria’s younger boyfriend.
-
Lucas Englander as Martin — connected to the retreat’s operation at Zauberwald.
What’s different this season
Season 1’s California wellness setting is replaced by a colder, more isolating alpine backdrop. The production used real European locations (not just backlots), leaning into a winter-resort mood that makes the retreat feel more intense and enclosed.
Masha’s methods are still an alternative-therapy approach and controversial—Season 2’s trailer and coverage emphasize how quickly “healing” starts to look like something darker, especially with a fresh set of guests carrying complicated baggage into the mountains.
