Season 2 of Landman has only just come to an end, but viewers are looking for what lies ahead. With the final episode fresh in everyone’s mind, the big question now is how soon the drama around M-Tex will be back on the screens.
The good news is that fans will not be left guessing about the show’s future. Season 3 of Landman is officially happening. Paramount+ renewed the series for a third season on December 5th, 2025, while Season 2 was still airing. This early renewal is usually a strong signal that the streaming platform wants to keep the momentum going.
For the fans, the move isn’t surprising, as Landman Season 2 drew a huge 9.2 million views worldwide in its opening days, which made it the biggest premiere the platform has ever had. Also, this shows that audiences are addicted to this oil-driven world.
These numbers clearly explain why Paramount+ did not wait for the season to end before giving the green light. Renewing the show early helps the production team plan ahead and reduces the gap between seasons, something fans always appreciate.

Showrunner Christian Wallace explained, “We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again. After we wrap, a couple of weeks later, we’re like, ‘Dang, I miss everybody — cast and crew.”
For those new to the series, Landman is a modern show set in West Texas that focuses on Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, a smart and tough guy who fixes problems in the oil business. He deals with oil workers, company bosses, land deals, and his own personal issues every day. The story takes place in busy oil towns where everyone is chasing power and money, from workers in the fields to top executives. Moreover, the show moves at a very fast pace, the risks are big, and even simple conversations often turn into serious business talks.
The second season brought big changes for Tommy and the people around him, such he launched his own oil company, CTT Oil and Exploration and Cattle. But Season 2’s ending didn’t finish the story. Instead, it hints at what’s coming next for Tommy and all the other people, such as more problems, consequences, and risks.
Wallace said in November 2025, “We barely skimmed the surface in season one and, after season two, I feel like we’re still just skimming the surface.”
So, why is there a growing belief that Landman Season 3 won’t take too long to arrive?
The reason is simple because Landman has already proven it can stick to a fast and steady production timeline. Season 2 began filming in early April 2025 and still managed to premiere by November 16th, 2025. Therefore, this shows that the series can move from filming to release in just a few months.
Due to this, there are signs that Season 3 might start filming soon. Actor Sam Elliott has shared that the team is planning to begin shooting around April or May. If the show follows the same schedule as Season 2, fans think it could return by late 2026, with November being the most likely time.
Paramount+ has not announced an exact release date yet, so fans still have to wait. But the good news is that Landman Season 3 is confirmed, and the next part of the story is set to continue before too long.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Landman are available to watch on Paramount+.
