When Will Euphoria Season 3 Come Out?

Date:

Since its premiere in 2019, HBO’s Euphoria has stood out from other teen dramas for its raw storytelling. Unlike other shows that focus on school drama, Euphoria is mainly about serious real-life issues like addiction, difficult relationships, and mental health.

After the finale of Season 2, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates and want to know what happens next for Jules, Rue, Nate, Cassie, and Maddy. Now, as production has finally concluded on the third season, interest in the show has picked up again. So, the big question remains: when will Euphoria Season 3 come out? Here is everything we know so far about the American TV series’ upcoming season.

Euphoria Season 3

Euphoria Season 3 Release Date

HBO revealed in December 2025 that Euphoria Season 3 was planned for an April 2026 release. The following month, in January 2026, the network confirmed the exact premiere date, announcing that the new season would begin on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at 9 PM EST. Also, the new episodes will come out weekly, which is the show’s usual release pattern.

Looking back, HBO renewed Euphoria for a third season in February 2022. Reports suggest that the show’s popularity led HBO to approve another season.

Episode Count for the Upcoming Season

HBO confirmed in July 2024 that Euphoria Season 3 will be a full-length season. Casey Bloys, the CEO and Chairman of HBO and Max Content, shared that the forthcoming season will have 8 episodes.

Returning Cast Members of Euphoria Season 3

Many familiar faces are coming back in Euphoria’s third season. Hunter Schafer is returning as Jules Vaughn, and Zendaya will once again play Rue Bennett. Colman Domingo will return in a guest role. Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi, Alanna Ubach, Dominic Fike, and Alexa Demie are also coming back. Moreover, Chloe Cherry and Martha Kelly have been promoted to regular roles.

Cast Members Not Returning for the Third Season

Not every character from the show will be coming back in Euphoria Season 3. Barbie Ferreira, who played the role of Kat Hernandez in seasons 1 and 2, announced her exit on social media by saying that she left due to creative differences. With the passing of Angus Cloud in 2023, who played Fezco, the show faced a major loss.

Further, Ashtray, played by Javon Wanna Walton, was written out of the story after the character passed away in the finale of the second season. Reports have also said that Nika King, Algee Smith, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams will no longer appear in the show.

New Cast and Characters for Euphoria’s Season 3

Several new faces are joining Euphoria Season 3. It is reported that Sharon Stone, Kadeem Hardison, Marshawn Lynch, and Rosalía would appear, along with actors such as Anna Van Patten, Toby Wallace, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Darrell Britt-Gibson.

Later in October 2025, more casting news was revealed. Other new cast members include Matthew Willig, Gideon Adlon, Eli Roth, Kwane Patterson, Jessica Blair Herman, Natasha Lyonne, Madison Thompson, Hemky Madera, Bella Podaras, Colleen Camp, Jack Topalian, Danielle Deadwyler, Trisha Paytas, Caityn Rice, Sam Trammell, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Homer Gere.

Storyline of Euphoria Season 3

For the third season, creator Sam Levinson has shared that the story will jump ahead by 5 years. This means the characters are no longer in high school and have moved on with their lives. Maddy is working for a talent manager, Jules is studying art, Lexi is now working in TV, Rue is in Mexico, and she still owes money to Laurie.

Another important part of the story is Cassie and Nate’s marriage. While this may surprise some viewers, their wedding will be a big and memorable moment in Season 3, even though their life together is not happy.

Levinson has also said, “And then Cassie [Sweeney] is living in the suburbs with Nate [Elordi], they’re engaged, and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time.”

Is Season 3 the Final Season of Euphoria

There is a strong possibility that Season 3 will be the final chapter of Euphoria. Francesca Orsi, HBO’s Head of Drama, has said that the team has talked about ending the show with the season.

She remarked, “We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end. I think you will be delighted with this season and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”

Since Season 3 is coming soon, now is a good time to rewatch the previous two seasons and get ready for what’s next!!
