‘Virgin River’ Season 7 Release Date Announced by Netflix

Date:

After a long wait, ‘Virgin River’ is finally set to return to Netflix with its seventh season.

Netflix has recently announced that the brand new episodes of ‘Virgin River’ Season 7 will be released on March 12th, 2026 and also dropped a first look photo that confirms Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) romance is very much alive.

The upcoming season will begin right after the Season 6 finale, where nurse practitioner Mel and restaurateur Jack finally get married after being engaged since Season 4.

Speaking to news outlets, Alexandra Breckenridge described the moment as emotional by saying, “There are so many feelings about Mel and Jack finally getting married, I don’t even know where to start!”

While the couple has faced many ups and downs over the years, including Mel’s miscarriage in Season 5, Patrick Sean Smith, the showrunner, told news outlets that fans don’t need to worry about what’s next for the beloved pair. He explained that married life will be anything but dull for Mel and Jack, as viewers are only just beginning to see how they function as husband and wife.

According to Smith, Season 7 will “explore the honeymoon phase for them as they’re building their lives on the farm, which can come with its own obstacles. Mel came to Virgin River expecting the cabin to be farmhouse chic, and now she’s living in a farmhouse. What does that mean for her character? She continues to be a fish out of water and is constantly taking herself out of her comfort zone.”

Meanwhile, the upcoming season will also focus on Brie and Brady, who were previously together. In the finale, they sleep together but do not immediately get back into a relationship. Brie afterwards tells her current boyfriend, Mike, about what happened, and instead of breaking up with her, Mike proposes.

Actor Benjamin Hollingsworth explained, “From day 1, it’s been an uphill battle for them. But I think that that’s what makes them so inspiring and what makes them a couple that people are rooting for. They do face all these challenges, much like our own personal lives. No one’s perfect. But they do have something. They have this chemistry, this magnetic pull together.”

He ended by saying, “I personally don’t think that Brie’s heart is necessarily with Mike. You’ll see both of them trying to navigate what this new normal looks like. Whether it involves Mike or not is really something that you have to wait and see. Brady just wants to be the best version of himself. Part of that is trying to give Brie space to figure out what she wants and let her come to him. I think that’s very hard for Brady to do.”

Based on Robyn Carr’s bestselling book series, ‘Virgin River’ premiered on Netflix in 2019. It stars several popular actors, including Annette O’Toole, Zibby Allen, Tim Matheson, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Colin Lawrence, Sarah Dugdale, Mark Ghanimé, Kai Bradbury, and Marco Grazzini.

All previous seasons of ‘Virgin River’ are currently available to stream on Netflix ahead of the Season 7 premiere.
