On October 25, 1997, a sculpture honoring Gallagher, created by a sculptor who had been a childhood friend, was unveiled in his hometown of Cork. A life-size bronze replica of Rory Gallagher’s signature Stratocaster stands at Rory Gallagher’s Corner in Temple Bar, Dublin.
There is a bronze statue of him in the town square of Ballyshannon, Ireland, unveiled on June 2, 2010, and a blues festival is held there every year in his honor.
