One Piece Season 2 Set to Premiere on Netflix in March 2026

Date:

After the success of its Season 1, Netflix’s live-action One Piece is all set to take viewers back into the world of adventure, big dreams, and pirates. When the show was first announced, many viewers were unsure if the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga could work in live action. But the series proved them wrong with its fun characters, detailed sets, and respect for the original story.

Now, with Luffy and the Straw Hat crew still chasing the legendary treasure and setting their sights on the Grand Line, interest in Season 2 is stronger than ever. So, in this article, we will discuss everything we know so far about One Piece Season 2.

One Piece Season 2 Set to Premiere on Netflix in March 2026

What Is the Release Date of One Piece Season 2?

After a long wait, Netflix has officially announced that One Piece Season 2 will premiere on March 10th, 2026. Just like Season 1, the new episodes will stream exclusively on Netflix.

How Many Episodes Will One Piece Season 2 Have?

Season 1 of One Piece had eight episodes, and most of them were approximately 50 minutes long. There are now rumors that Season 2 may have more episodes, which could make sense because the story will cover more arcs. One of the show’s co-showrunners, Joe Tracz, has also said that Season 2 will be even bigger than the first one. Therefore, this could mean longer episodes, a bigger production, or both.

As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

The show’s co-showrunner, Matt Owens, has also confirmed that in the upcoming season, the Straw Hats will finally reach the Grand Line, the place that was talked about throughout the first season.

Has One Piece Season 2 Finished Filming?

Netflix shared that filming for One Piece Season 2 was officially finished on February 4th, 2025. They announced this with a photo of the 5 main actors dressed as their characters in Loguetown, along with a fun message saying the crew is ready to head toward the Grand Line.

Earlier, Netflix had confirmed that Season 2 started filming in South Africa in the middle of 2024. The cast shared photos and videos as they traveled to Cape Town and reunited on set, showing that the production was underway. Some reports even say that the filming may have started in June 2024 and continued until December.

The long filming time was partly due to delays caused by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, which affected many shows. Eiichiro Oda, the creator, also asked fans to be patient, explaining that the scripts took time to finish. The writers returned to work in late 2023, which helped production move ahead.
