Millie Bobby Brown On Why She Wants To Shave Her Head Again After Stranger Things

Date:

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to bold style decisions and now she’s hinting that one of her most iconic looks could make a comeback… outside of acting. The actress recently shared that she wants to shave her head again, not for a role but as a personal experience she describes as “liberating.”

Millie Bobby Brown

Brown first rose to fame as Eleven in Stranger Things, a character whose shaved head became iconic in pop culture. Looking back on that experience, she said it wasn’t something she dreaded; in fact, she loved having her hair buzzed off and would happily revisit it. When she initially shaved her head for the show at age 11, she didn’t feel anxiety or sadness; she simply embraced the moment and the transformation it brought her.

Now 21, Brown revisited those memories during an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She told host Alex Cooper that she often talks with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, about shaving her head again — specifically before she has her first child. “I always tell Jake, for my first baby I want to shave my hair off,” she said. “It was really liberating, I would suggest it for anyone — any girl.”

Brown explained why this time it wouldn’t be about a role but about a personal milestone. She said that hair can feel like “such an ordeal,” especially when preparing to nurture a child, and that giving it up temporarily feels freeing. “Maybe right before I’m about to give birth,” she said, “why deal with my hair?” The idea of cutting her hair again, she added, would be a way to welcome a new chapter in her life just as powerfully as Eleven’s buzzcut did years earlier.

The star also reflected on how her perspective has evolved. At 11 or 12, the age she first rocked the shaved look, she admitted she occasionally felt insecure about it as she grew up and experienced normal adolescent concerns. But overall, she looks back on the experience positively and considers it formative.

Brown’s openness has resonated with fans because it blends nostalgia with personal growth: the hairstyle that once defined a beloved character has now become something she sees as empowering in her own life. Whether or not she follows through with shaving her head again before becoming a mother, her comments underscore the confidence she’s gained since her early days in the spotlight.
