Chris Pratt is sharing a sobering update in the wake of Southern California’s destructive Palisades Fire: while his home was spared, the same wasn’t true for his ex-wife Anna Faris. In a video posted to social media on Jan. 22, Pratt said his house was “miraculously” still standing. “By the grace of God, we have four walls and a roof,” he added, describing his first trip back to see the property since the fire began.
But Pratt stressed that the relief came with a heavy reality check. “It’s truly devastating,” he said, noting that many homes around him burned and “the community’s gone.” He also revealed the fire’s impact on his family, saying, “My son’s school is gone. My son’s mom’s house burned down,” referring to Faris, with whom he shares 12-year-old son Jack.

Faris and her family were reported to be safe, with a representative telling PEOPLE in the early days of the fire that they were “safe and very grateful.”
The Palisades Fire started on Jan. 7, 2025, in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles and ultimately burned 23,448 acres, according to CAL FIRE. Officials later reported extensive losses, including thousands of structures destroyed and confirmed civilian fatalities and injuries.
In his message, Pratt thanked supporters for their prayers and pointed to the way neighbors have shown up for one another amid the destruction—an attempt to find a sliver of hope in a moment defined by loss.
