Brad Pitt has offered his first public comments on finalizing his divorce settlement with Angelina Jolie, months after the former couple reached an agreement ending a years-long legal process.
In a recent GQ interview conducted while he was promoting his upcoming racing film F1, Pitt was asked whether he felt “relief” after the settlement was reached. His response was notably restrained: he said he didn’t view it as “that major of a thing,” characterizing it instead as “just something coming to fruition… legally.”

The remarks arrived after Jolie and Pitt reached a divorce settlement in late December 2024, concluding a legal split that began when Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. While the terms of the settlement were not publicly disclosed, Reuters reported the agreement finalized the divorce process after years of high-profile litigation and scrutiny.
Pitt’s comments also fit within a broader theme of the GQ profile: his long-running relationship with fame and the constant attention around his private life.
In the same interview, he acknowledged that “some version” of his personal life has been in the news for decades and described the attention as an ongoing “annoyance” that can become a time sink if you let it.
Even with the divorce settlement finalized, other legal matters tied to the former couple have continued to make headlines—most notably their ongoing dispute involving Château Miraval, the French winery they once co-owned, which outlets have reported remains active separately from the divorce itself.
