NBC Cancels Suits LA Following Its First Season

Date:

Suits LA’s run is already over. NBC has canceled the Suits spinoff after one season, bringing the Stephen Amell-led legal drama to an end with its Season 1 (now series) finale on May 18, 2025.

The decision lands after months of industry curiosity about whether the franchise’s massive streaming resurgence could translate into a durable broadcast hit. Instead, the network is closing the book early—leaving Suits LA as a short-lived entry in the broader Suits universe, despite attempts to connect it to the original series and tap into that renewed fan interest.

NBC’s decision and where the show leaves off

The series will not return for Season 2, making it a one-season entry in the broader Suits universe.

What Suits LA was trying to be

Set on the West Coast, the show followed Ted Black (Amell) in a Los Angeles legal world, with a supporting cast that included Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. It also leaned on connective tissue to the original Suits through returning characters like Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman).

Why NBC pulled the plug

NBC executives framed the cancellation as a performance call, saying the show wasn’t showing enough potential to grow—an increasingly important factor as networks weigh both broadcast audiences and streaming behavior.

Deadline’s reporting similarly pointed to the difficulty of reversing momentum, suggesting it would have taken significant effort to build a larger audience.

The bigger context: Suits’ streaming boom didn’t guarantee spinoff success

Suits LA arrived after the original Suits surged again on streaming, but the spinoff still couldn’t translate that renewed attention into a durable new hit.

Where to watch Suits LA now

All episodes are available to stream on Peacock.
