Silas “Uncle Si” Robertson is recovering after a hunting-trip mishap sent him to the hospital. The Duck Dynasty fan favorite was hospitalized after falling while trying to get off a boat during a duck-hunting trip in Arkansas, according to accounts shared by his co-hosts on the Duck Call Room podcast.
On the podcast, co-host Justin Martin said Robertson was in “a dang hurry” to step out of the boat when he took a long stride, lost his footing, and went down. Martin added that Robertson landed on his portable oxygen equipment—something Robertson has relied on amid ongoing health issues.
Despite the fall, Robertson initially insisted he was fine and continued on, but those around him began to worry when he became unusually quiet and appeared off from his typical storytelling self.

The concern escalated after a walk-in clinic found Robertson’s oxygen levels were “really low,” prompting an emergency room visit. At the hospital, Robertson told his friends he was in significant pain and feared he had broken ribs. Tests ultimately showed bruised ribs rather than breaks, and his low oxygen levels were attributed to panic attacks brought on by pain, according to the podcast recap and later reporting.
Entertainment Weekly reported Robertson spent three days in the emergency room before being discharged with medication and instructions to recover at home.
The incident comes after a previous health scare: Robertson underwent lung surgery in September 2022 after experiencing breathing difficulties he linked to smoking, COPD, and COVID-19 complications.
At the time of the January 2025 incident, Robertson was also expected to be part of the Robertson family’s return to reality TV in Duck Dynasty: The Revival, ordered as a two-season run by A&E.
