Rent-a-Girlfriend, a popular romantic comedy anime, has officially announced a release date window for its Season 5, bringing long-awaited clarity for fans!
Along with confirming the release timeframe, the announcement also shared a few new details about the next chapter, giving fans a better idea of what to expect when the anime returns.
Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Release Date
Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 has been scheduled for release sometime in 2026, as confirmed through the anime’s official website and social media channels. The announcement clarifies that the upcoming season will continue the Hawaii Arc, which has been designated as the second cour of the story.
Not only this, but a key visual was also revealed, featuring artwork by the character designer Kanna Hirayama.
In the new poster, Chizuru and Mami are shown standing face to face, which clearly suggests that there is conflict or tension building between them. The promotional artwork is also accompanied by the tagline “Now, the fateful moment has arrived.” This suggests that Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 will be more serious and dramatic. Additionally, there may be moments that could alter the characters’ relationships.
On the production side, the upcoming season will once again be handled by TMS Entertainment. Based on Reiji Miyajima’s manga, the series has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017.
The manga remains one of the magazine’s most popular and longest-running titles, with English releases available through Kodansha USA. Mitsutaka Hirota will compose the series, and Kazuomi Koga will direct it.
Currently, the anime’s previous four seasons are streaming on Crunchyroll. The site describes the story as, “Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. ‘Ugh… Damn it. I never want to go through that again.’ Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl.
