ABC has officially ordered a new spinoff in Ryan Murphy’s first-responder franchise: 9-1-1: Nashville. The series received a straight-to-series pickup and is positioned as the next chapter in the brand following the wrap of 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Creative leadership stays in the family. Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani are set as writers and executive producers, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also executive producing.
Cast, rollout, and what to expect
The spinoff is led by Chris O’Donnell as Captain Don Hart, a seasoned firefighter (and former rodeo rider) at the center of the new Nashville-set ensemble. The cast build-out includes Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, with additional series regulars announced as production ramped up.
ABC has begun teasing the show’s tone and spectacle—big rescues with Music City flavor—while layering in family drama tied to the Hart household. In its official promo materials, the pilot centers on a tornado that threatens a country music festival, alongside a major family secret coming to light.
As for when it airs: 9-1-1: Nashville premieres Oct. 9, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, with episodes streaming next day on Hulu.
