Apple TV+ has quickly become one of the best places to watch high-quality sci-fi shows, with stories that are creative and exciting. From popular hits like Foundation, Severance, and Silo to smaller but just as impressive series, the platform has something for every sci-fi fan.
While some of these shows are widely talked about, others went unnoticed just because they weren’t marketed well, even though they offer high production value and creative stories.
If you’re not sure where to begin, here are 10 sci-fi shows on Apple TV+ you must watch, whether you’re a longtime fan or just getting into the genre.

Severance
Severance is one of the biggest and most-talked-about shows on Apple TV+ right now, and for good reason. The sci-fi thriller is set at Lumon Industries, a strange company where employees go through a process that separates their work life from their personal life. At work, they remember nothing about the outside world, and once they leave the office, they forget everything about their job.
The story mainly follows Mark Scout, who slowly begins to question what Lumon is really doing after meeting someone connected to his life outside work. As the story moves forward, the show explores dark secrets, questions of identity and freedom, and what people really lose when work and personal life are completely separated. On Rotten Tomatoes, Severance has a 95% rating.
Invasion
Invasion is an Apple TV+ sci-fi series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil that tells an alien invasion story in a very different way. Instead of focusing on big action scenes, the show follows ordinary people in different parts of the world as they try to survive and understand what is happening around them.
The story follows different people, like families, soldiers and scientists, and shows how they feel scared, confused, and stressed as the invasion slowly happens. First released in 2021, Invasion ran for 3 seasons and built a loyal audience that enjoyed its approach to sci-fi.
Silo
If you enjoy dark mysteries set in a broken future, Silo should be on your watchlist. Based on Hugh Howey’s Wool novels, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the last humans live inside a huge underground silo, believing the outside world is deadly. Life inside is tightly controlled and asking questions about the past or the silo itself is not allowed.
Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who begins to doubt everything she’s been told and starts finding hidden truths. As she searches for answers, secrets, power struggles, and danger rise to the surface. With great acting, a tense story, and impressive visuals, Silo is an engaging and thoughtful sci-fi show.
Foundation
Foundation is a big sci-fi series on Apple TV+ based on Isaac Asimov’s famous books. It is set in the future, where a powerful empire rules the galaxy. A scientist named Hari Seldon predicts that the empire will fall, bringing chaos, so he creates a group called the Foundation to save knowledge and protect the future.
The show mixes space battles with politics and power struggles, and makes it exciting but sometimes complex. Moreover, it can feel confusing at first, especially if you haven’t read the books, but if you stay with it, the story becomes very rewarding.
Dark Matter
Dark Matter is another sci-fi series based on Blake Crouch’s novel and stars Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen, a physics professor living a quiet life in Chicago. One night, Jason is kidnapped and pushed into an alternate version of his life, sending him through different realities where he sees what his life could have been if he had made other choices.
As he travels through the multiverse, Jason struggles to find his way back to his real family while facing questions about identity, love, and destiny. The show mixes strong sci-fi ideas with emotional storytelling. Due to its huge success, Dark Matter was renewed for a second season in August 2024.
For All Mankind
If you love big sci-fi stories with heart, this is one you shouldn’t miss. For All Mankind is one of Apple TV+’s most underrated sci-fi shows, even though it’s widely praised by critics and longtime viewers. Created by Ronald D. Moore, the series imagines an alternate world where the Soviet Union lands on the Moon first, pushing NASA to keep the space race alive for decades.
The story follows astronauts, engineers, and their families across generations, showing how that single moment changes history and personal lives over time. With every season, the show gets bigger and moves through different decades, along with introducing new characters. Starring Toby Kebbell, Jodi Balfour, Joel Kinnaman, and Shantel VanSanten, For All Mankind is one of Apple TV+’s best hidden shows with a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Murderbot
Murderbot is a fun sci-fi series based on Martha Wells’ popular book All Systems Red. It stars Alexander Skarsgård as a security android that secretly hacks its control system and gains free will. Even though it would rather spend its time watching TV, it still has to keep protecting humans while hiding its secret.
The show is known for its dry humor, awkward/quirky tone, and clean sci-fi visuals. As the story goes on, Murderbot begins to care about others and take on more responsibility, turning the show into a fun story about freedom, identity, and trust.
WondLa
Released in 2024, WondLa is an animated sci-fi series that is based on the novels by Tony DiTerlizzi that deserved far more attention than it received. It follows Eva Nine, a human girl raised underground by a robot mother, who is forced to step into the wild surface world of Earth and discover alien cultures, lost human history, and where she truly belongs. Even though it may look like a kids’ show at first, WondLa has rich world-building, meaningful themes, and emotional moments that adults can also enjoy.
The show ran for three seasons, with Seasons 2 and 3 released in 2025. It works as an easy sci-fi introduction for younger viewers while also offering a touching journey for older audiences.
Hello Tomorrow!
Hello Tomorrow! is a stylish show in which viewers can see drama and humor together, set in a retro-futuristic world. Created by Amit Bhalla and Lucas Jansen, the show aired on Apple TV+ in 2023 and stars Billy Crudup as Jack Billings. He is a charming salesman who leads a team selling timeshares on the Moon.
The show is set in a different version of the 1950s with robots, flying cars, and a hopeful feel, where sci-fi is used mainly as the background. As Jack chases big dreams of a better future, his personal struggles and family issues slowly come to light, especially after he reconnects with his son. With its unique look and a strong performance by Crudup, Hello Tomorrow! tells a heartfelt story about big dreams and what it takes to chase them.
See
If you are looking for a bold sci-fi series that dares to be different, then don’t miss out on See. It is a powerful show created by Steven Knight that slowly grew into something much better than many first expected. Set in a far-future world where humans have lost the ability to see, the story follows small tribes trying to survive without modern cities.
Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, a strong warrior who raises twins born with the rare gift of sight after falling in love with their mother, Maghra. While the show received mixed reactions at first, it became stronger with each season.
