New Japan Pro-Wrestling joins fans in wishing Moné a full and fast recovery.
After winning the preliminary round against Stephanie Vaquer, Moné faced Willow Nightingale in the championship match of a competition to crown the first NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. To pin Moné and win the game, Nightingale had to defeat Momo Kohgo.
Although she avoided discussing the specifics of the injury, Moné was said to have broken her ankle the night of the show. Later that evening, in a social media post, the wrestler herself referred to missing some time while recuperating.
