CEOE-Cepyme has rejected the labor reform of the Ministry of Labor directed by the third vice president Yolanda Díaz, considering the proposal to modernize the labor market “unacceptable”.

Among the warnings, they highlight “that these approaches go against the adaptability that companies need to be able to generate employment in the current situation of uncertainty and transformation, and also the guidelines set by the European Commission in this matter, thereby The agile reception of the European funds that the country needs for reconstruction after the pandemic is ultimately at stake.

As indicated in the statement, at the meeting of the tripartite social dialogue table last Tuesday, business organizations conveyed “the need, in order to continue negotiating, to have a new approach by the Government” that is aligned, they ask. , with the needs of companies and workers and that also fits the recommendations from Brussels .

And it is that in his opinion, the draft presented by Díaz’s team “seems to respond to an ideological motivation without economic foundations; it does not take into account the reality of the business fabric and of working people, and, therefore, inevitably leads to disagreement ” .

It is a “regressive and interventionist” proposal.
Nor is the management convinced by the approach that seeks to modernize the labor market: “It does not seem that the best option is to propose a proposal that in all its elements is regressive and interventionist” because they criticize that it reduces the capacity of collective bargaining.

For CEOE and Cepyme, the reform should seek “quality labor relations” but instead, they state in the statement, “part of mistrust and suspicion towards the company, throwing confused dogmas such as the assimilation of temporality and precariousness “.

In this sense, the CEOE recalls that ” temporality is an intrinsic element to many activities of a seasonal nature, so reducing it to a residual phenomenon harms the employability of many people, especially those who lack qualifications and young people. at a time when its unemployment rate is around 40%, and even exceeds 50% in many territories “. Thus, they share the need to act against irregular and non-causal temporality and ask to expand the tools for this.

They also criticize that the labor reform as it is proposed is “alien to European requests and the result of a government pact that does not oblige us and that, in addition, is harmful to employment” and warns that if the Government perseveres in this direction, “will be without the support of business organizations.”

Vice President Díaz has been convinced on more than one occasion that she will carry out the labor reform and even launched an order if she did not manage to repeal that of the PP this year.
