After months of looking, Kingsbury’s body was found on the 4200 block of 198th Street close to Mabel. Her children’s father, Adam Fravel, 29, a Winona resident, has been charged with first- and second-degree m*rder. He has been detained at the Olmsted County Adult Center ever since his arrest on June 9. You can see the tweet below.

The results of Kingsbury’s autopsy were released by the authorities months ago, and they showed that she had been the victim of homicidal violence. The location and timing of her injuries are not mentioned in the report. The medical examiner discovered that a towel had been wrapped around Kingsbury’s neck and head, according to the criminal complaint.
Fravel was the last person to see Kingsbury alive, and the tape and sheets that were discovered on her body and in the couple’s shared home indicate that she may have driven Fravel to the Mabel area. Kingsbury is accused of having an abusive relationship with Fravel, who admitted to having a fixation with Gabby Petito, a woman whose lover had ki!!ed her in 2021. $2 million has been set as his bail, with several restrictions.
If found guilty of first-degree m*rder, Fravel would be sentenced to life in prison. If found guilty of second-degree m*rder, he may spend up to 40 years behind bars. On March 31, 2023, Kingsbury was reported missing. Winona County Attorney Karin Sonneman stated at a June press conference that she had a bright future, and Mr. Fravel took it from her. “By charging him today with her murder, we intend to hold him accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
Concerns about how Sonneman’s office handled crucial aspects of the case, such as child custody and whether Fravel was prosecuted prematurely based on insufficient evidence, have been raised by the bench as well as a third-party legal expert.
What Happened to Madeline Kingsbury?
Maddi Kingsbury, a mother of two from Winona, Minnesota, went missing at the age of 26 after seeing Lauren DeBois, a woman she had known since their time together at Winona State. When Lauren was checked into the hospital, Maddi was at the Rochester Mayo Clinic.
“Everything is bad with Adam at the house,” Maddi said to her friend DeBois in the hospital, referring to her on-again, off-again partner, and the father of her two children, Adam Fravel. Maddi claimed that Fravel had “beaten the hell out of her for years,” and she contacted Lauren for advice on how to leave the abusive situation.

Maddi continued with a mysterious statement: “If anything happens to me, know that Adam did it.” I’d never abandon my children. The email is simply one piece of evidence that, in the early stages of the investigation, led Winona police to suspect Fravel’s involvement in Maddi’s kidnapping, according to a plethora of search warrant affidavits made public recently.
Sixty-eight days after she was last seen, Maddi’s bones were found on a remote property outside of Mabel, Minnesota, on June 7. Fravel and his parents made the discovery. Fravel has been charged with second-degree premeditated homicide in relation to Kingsbury’s passing.
