Clone High Season 2: Release Date, Cast , Plot and More Updates!

Clone High Season 2

Clone High Season 2

If you were a kid growing up in the early 2000s, you might remember the famous animated series Clone High. The series, which aired on MTV in the US and Teletoon in Canada, put famous historical figures like Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra, and Mahatma Gandhi in a modern high school. Even though the show only ran for one season of 13 episodes from 2002 to 2003, it has a strong cult following among fans that is still going strong 20 years later.

In July 2020, it was announced that Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the show’s original creators, would be back to make a new season. Later, the show moved to HBO Max and was picked up for two seasons. Will this new version be able to catch lightning in a bottle as the first one did 20 years ago?

Keeping that in mind, let’s look at what we know about the upcoming return of Clone High. Will the original voice actors come back to play their parts, and will there be any new ones? Will it pick up where the first one left off or introduce a new idea? When can people look forward to seeing the revival? What else do we need to know about the new Clone High?

Clone High Season 2 Release Date

As Lord and Miller said in their interview with Collider, the show is currently being made for HBO Max. Both seasons are being made at the same time. But there is no set a date for when the new season will come out. When asked when people might be able to watch the new episodes, Lord said, “That’s something I don’t know.” Miller said this in addition: “Some of the episodes are being animated right now, I know. But I don’t know when it will be shown on TV.”

Based on how long it takes to make an animated show, it seems likely that the episodes will come out in late 2022 or early 2023. That would also make it possible for the first episode to come out about 20 years after the first episode of the original series. In any case, viewers can only wait and see what happens.

Clone High Season 2 Plot

Few details about the plot of the revival have been made public, but it has been called a “modern refresh” of the original show. That makes it sound like the new episodes will try to stay as close as possible to the plot of the original series. In the original, the US military cloned historical figures to use their special skills in military projects. They set up a secret military test that looked like a high school so they could watch what the clones did.

Typical high school things happened to the clones while they were at the military high school, like dating and relationships, parties, proms, and sports. Aside from the main characters, there were many historical clones at the school, including Vincent van Gogh, Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington Carver, Paul Revere, Julius Caesar, and many more.

Most animated shows don’t age their main characters, so it’s likely that the characters will stay the same age in the revival. Look at how Beavis and Butthead came back to life in 2011. Even though the show had not been on for almost 15 years, the main characters had not changed. Since the show’s name includes the word “high school,” it wouldn’t make sense for the characters to be older.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have said that the revival is really “season two” of the original show, which means that the same characters will be back at the same age. Most likely, their problems in high school will be changed for a more modern audience.

There were some arguments about the first season. In 2003, politicians and activists in India went on a hunger strike to protest the way Gandhi was portrayed in a TV show. He was shown as a wild party animal. MTV quickly apologized for the backlash, saying that the show was never meant to be shown in India and that they were sorry for hurting “the people of India and the memory of Mahatma Gandhi.”

Clone High Season 2 Cast

The revival’s cast hasn’t been talked about much, but Lord and Miller have shared some important information. In an interview with Collider, Lord confirmed that he would be playing Cinnamon J. Scudworth, the principal of Clone High, who wants to hurt the US military and use the clones for his purposes. Miller is also expected to play JFK and Mr. Butlertron, the robot who helps Principal Scudworth like he did in the first movie.

Will Forte did the voice of Abraham Lincoln, Nicole Sullivan did the voice of Joan of Arc, Michael McDonald did the voice of Mahatma Gandhi, and Christa Miller did the voice of Cleopatra. Even though none of these actors has been confirmed to be coming back, Lord and Miller did say that the episodes are already being made. We could probably expect to hear about changes to the cast in the coming weeks and months.
